What is your favorite recording software? I am partial to ProTools for general production, but also use Ableton Live, and occasionally Logic. What about you?

Hi,

I started recording on PCs probably 15 years ago when things had to be really "sorted" on the computer or it wouldn't run!

I started with n-track. It was cheap (budget is always tight eh?), worked reasonably well and had a good support forum. The pinnacle of it's use for me was mixing (and re recording some tracks of) 20 songs recorded by our church in a "proper" studio.

Soon after that I discovered Reaper. Not the most friendly name but the software is great value and works really well. Last year I recorded 16 tracks of a blues band that I depped for on guitar. Recorded straight into my stock Dell laptop. How times have changed.

Blessings

Mark

I am not an advanced user, just compose songs at home using ProTools 7.0 LE, which I hooked up to my Fantom X7 through an Mbox 2 unit. I like ProTools because of its simplicity and help through forums.
